After you check out all the fun and exciting projects your student is working on in class at Open House, come to celebrate with a family dinner at California Pizza Kitchen located at the corner of Crebs Ave and Ventura Blvd.
Or you can pickup lunch for the office!! CPK Tarzana is hosting Wilbur all day and will donate 20% of all food & beverage sales that day to Wilbur!

There are still opportunities to sponsor a booth or activity for WilburChella. Help us support this fun event by becoming a carnival sponsor.
Just click HERE. You can sponsor your class booth, a bounce house, the cotton candy machine, the popcorn machine, the water bucket dump or the pie-in-the-face booth!
Your family or business name will be displayed on the booth or activity that you choose to sponsor.
All booths are $150.00 apiece; bounce house sponsorships are $500.00 apiece.

The event will take place from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2024, on the big yard at Wilbur.

WilburChella Wristbands on Sale NOW!!!
Friends of Wilbur is excited to present WilburChella! This fun carnival-style event will be held on the big yard on Saturday, April 20th!!
We’ll have lots of fun activities, yummy food and so much more!! See the flier for all the details. Wristbands are required for bounce houses, games, and activities. They will be $25 each (pre-sale) and $30 at the door.
**Anyone who donated $1100 or more to the 2023-24 Annual Fund will get two free wristbands!
The wristbands will include unlimited participation in the bounce houses, booth games and crafts (please note that “pie in the face” and “water bucket dump” will have a minimal additional fee to play).
(If you don’t plan to participate in booth games or bounce houses, you don’t need to buy a ticket. The event is free to attend.) There also will be food trucks on hand with goodies to purchase.

Ice Cream Sales Are Back!! 🍦
I scream, you scream, we all scream … for Ice Cream Fridays!
The Class of 2024 Culmination Committee is selling ice cream after school on Fridays in April! Starting April 5, you can buy a variety of ice cream products after the bell rings on the lawn in front of the school, near the auditorium entrance.
All items are $3 or less! Cash only. First come, first served, until they sell out!
All proceeds will pay for culmination costs for this year’s fifth-grade class. This event is sponsored by Friends of Wilbur to benefit the Class of 2024 culmination.

Generation Genius
Friends of Wilbur is excited to offer a new science and math teaching resource for all grade levels this year! Thanks to the generous support of our Gold Level Sponsor Logix Federal Credit Union and its Tarzana branch location, which has fully underwritten the cost of this program, Wilbur teachers have access to all that Generation Genius has to offer and are incorporating it into their lessons. This program, which was started by a scientist with a Ph.D. in biochemistry and an Emmy-winning former president of Marvel TV & Animation, aims to bring “school science standards to life through fun and educational videos paired with lesson plans, activities, quizzes, reading material and more.” Their videos, which are produced in partnership with the National Science Teaching Association, are designed to meet school standards, with different lessons and activities tailored for each grade level.

About Us
Friends of Wilbur (FOW), our parent-run all-volunteer booster club, is the non-profit organization that supports Wilbur. FOW pays for computer, art, science, and music, none of which are currently funded by Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). FOW is 100% run by parent volunteers, and your involvement and support are vital to Wilbur’s continuing success.

Annual Fund
The “I HEART WILBUR” pledge drive is FOW’s biggest annual fundraising event and enables us to continue supporting these programs that your children and their teachers love. The goal of the “I HEART WILBUR” pledge drive this year is to raise $175,000. We have increased our goal this year due to rising prices in line items such as payroll, insurance, and materials, which have affected our overall budget. Every dollar counts towards reaching this goal, so if you cannot give the suggested amount, we appreciate gifts of any amount. EVERY BIT HELPS! Donate now!
Where Does the Annual Fund Money Go?
You probably know that the Annual Fund supports our art, music and computer programs, along with the holiday show and field trip buses (two per year for each grade level!). But did you know it also pays for community events like Trunk or Treat and the Math and Science Bonanza, in addition to student achievement awards, teacher appreciation gifts and other important expenses to make our school as great as it is! These expenses are not paid for by LAUSD, so your donation is crucial! Take a look below to see the breakdown.
